The Beast is Loosed and it is Technology

A realistic assessment of the state of Evolutionary "Science" and the massive advancement of the technological BEAST.

The Scientific argument against Evolutionary Darwinism/Naturalism is complete. Evolution/Naturalism as a theory for the Origins of Life has been thoroughly debunked, not by religious zealots, as the argument goes but by Science asking the simple question, From Whence Comes Information?

Many of us by reason have known this for some time, in fact for the entire period that science/naturalism entered "the party of the insane," making unproved claims from thin air and passing their convoluted myth-making off as "science." Such Mind Control psychological operation is NOT science but is rather "political" and 'theological" and has never been anything more than a baseless "philosophy" with history going back to the ancient Greek Philosophers whose arguments were as simplistic and baseless as 19th and 20th century naturalist's mythology.

As a "religious zealot," as I am labelled by those who argue dead and defamed theories of evolution because I have met and serve Jesus Christ and none other and accept as self-evident the words of Saint Paul saying"

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Romans 1:16-20 (King James Version)" As a "zealot" I never bought into the idea of evolution except where it is proved and that is the ability of living beings to adapt over time, and sometimes over extremely short periods, when life becomes very easy for them, as the Russian Gray Fox experiments prove. But this adaptation is within certain parameters of "kinds" to the mandates of survival in changing environments, or ease. Removed from the necessity of survival, domesticated, cared for and feed in comfort the Gray Fox in a few generations flowered into multi-colored and even some flop eared, cute little creature full of life and curiosity. Sadly, money restraints at end of the Soviet era caused the necessity to "eliminate" hundreds of these animals because of lack of funds to feed them.

I have just finished these last two and I can say without doubt that ANYONE who takes an honest read of these four books will know in their gut "Naturalism" is finished, and Darwinism/Naturalism are . . . or should be relegated to the dust bin of history.

The constant argument of the Atheistic Evolutionary Movement has been that Christians are anti-intellectual and anti-science.

NOTHING is further from the truth since Modern Science is primarily a product inside the history of Christianity, and took a decidedly anti-Church turn around the period of the so-called "Enlightenment." The majority of pioneer scientists of history WERE Christian and a great many clergy to boot.

As history and science has now confirmed, most of what was gained by the Protestant/Enlightenment anti-church revolution was merely anti-God, anti-Science, anti-Reason, in fact a sojourn into the realm of fantasy and delusion of which the Roman Church has not been immune. Modern Science has unleashed upon the world a massive new paradigm of technology that like all tools, firearms, dynamite, nuclear power, microwave radiation, sound and light frequency weapons, is a two edge sword, able to kill and heal, and such power is now increasingly placed in the hands of those whose foundation for morality and ethics, whose appreciation for the wonder of the human person has been destroyed by their atheistic/naturalist philosophy.

One of the really major surprises in this whole five century saga (and I reference Galileo, Kepler, Newton, Darwin etc) has been that just as the actual empirical observation of REAL science has disproved them, in the vital aspects that matter to Christianity, that is as it effects the idea of mankind created in God's image, the Roman Church in the late 20th and early 21st century and even some famous Orthodox Christian voices have embraced the errors. (Most Main Line Protestants capitulated to Darwinism decades ago.) One has to wonder why? The answer is of course as already stated, these brain dead errors are "political" and "theological" to bolster a world without God, to free man from obvious moral constraints, to make man his own creator, holding in his hands his evolutionary future, without moral constraints or reference to God or God's image in mankind. Many of these same deniers of TRUE SCIENCE have as their motive the relegation of Christianity to something other than Ultimate Truth, the reduction of Christian Truth to just one competing religious mythology in a world-supermarket of religious thought. Why?

Ray is Google's Chief engineer with unlimited funds to "create the singularity" where humankind will morph into the Borg of Star Trek fame, become a single interconnected mind, cybernetically connected to "all consciousness." The bastardization of the IKON of God-the human person, into something other than human. He has written honestly about how difficult it will be to tell where humanity ends, and the technological beast begins.

In case you think I am exaggerating or an "alarmist" this from Time Magazine February 10th 2011: "But Kurzweil would spend much of the rest of his career working out what his demonstration meant. Creating a work of art is one of those activities we reserve for humans and humans only. It's an act of self-expression; you're not supposed to be able to do it if you don't have a self. To see creativity, the exclusive domain of humans, usurped by a computer built by a 17-year-old is to watch a line blur that cannot be unblurred, the line between organic intelligence and artificial intelligence.

"That was Kurzweil's real secret, and back in 1965 nobody guessed it. Maybe not even him, not yet. But now, 46 years later, Kurzweil believes that we're approaching a moment when computers will become intelligent, and not just intelligent but more intelligent than humans. When that happens, humanity — our bodies, our minds, our civilization — will be completely and irreversibly transformed. He believes that this moment is not only inevitable but imminent. According to his calculations, the end of human civilization as we know it is about 35 years away."

What can be the motivation of those using Modern Science/Technology for the ultimate goal to "eliminate human civilization"? What can it mean, but the ushering in of a period of Technological Feudalism beyond what any human could imagine or cope - a Techno-Utilitarian-Civilization supposedly with "machines in control" rendering most of humanity needless. I say "supposedly with machines in control" because this will be the lie that "machines are in control." Rather the owners of the technology will be in total control . . . in control of an enslaving technology that has been massively hidden from us, classified, militarized and removed from the normal human's experience or control . . . a technology where we are its subjects, if indeed we are allowed life at all.

You read puff-pieces in the academic and popular science press and you believe that you have a handle on the exponential increase of the power held by the elite, and truly you DO NOT. This exchange will give you a hint at how technology has been purposely removed from the average human, developed in secret, and held by the same people who presently control all of Western Civilization, the people who literally own the governments and have enslaved normal people through generational debt.

I just wrote you an answer that caused my browser to crash - no joke. So let me try it another way. History is the key and understanding of the knowledge curve, the fact that all knowledge is doubling in shorter and shorter periods of time and that 99% of that knowledge is withheld from us. We live in a 1940s world, (1940s where technological advances were already massively suppressed) here in the 21st century we are given trinkets of technology to play with, phones, computers etc, when the Corporate/Government entity has withheld nearly all advances.

If you think carefully about it, the home and life of my grandfather 1890s and the home and life of my father 1950s were light years different. But my home and the common home today is really not very different at all, from that 1940s home, except that we have these trinkets - but have to work much harder, for much longer, for less. Yet in the period of 1900 to 1950 human knowledge doubled three times. It doubled again in the 60s, was doubling then about every decade, then doubling every five years, now every 13 months. The futurists say that it will be doubling every TWELVE HOURS shortly.

NONE of this vast expansion of knowledge has been shared with us. The chart below doesn't touch the reality.

If you made all of human technological advancement from fire to steam engine technology of the 1840s a graph line three blocks long, by 1840 the line would have raised one quarter inch from the base line. However, in that decade the line took a turn upward, almost at a 90 degree angle and is now some five miles in the sky. We were and are allowed to view and use about the first two inches of that technological advancement. My God man we are still driving internal combustion automobiles, and paying enormously for energy, when the technology for free energy has been known since the 1920s - but they will kill you if you try to develop methods of using it. The KGB files briefly opened in the 1990s told the story of Viktor Schauberger's “Implosion Machine” producing light and heat, and mechanical motion, with only air and water. It was developed and used in the "flying saucers" developed by the NAZI PRIOR to WWII. Yet we are still enslaved to energy prices and driving internal combustion machines.

Scientists join Elon Musk & Stephen Hawking, warn of dangerous AI

Hundreds of leading scientists and technologists have joined Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk in warning of the potential dangers of sophisticated artificial intelligence, signing an open letter calling for research on how to avoid harming humanity.

The open letter, drafted by the Future of Life Institute and signed by hundreds of academics and technologists, calls on the artificial intelligence science community to not only invest in research into making good decisions and plans for the future, but to also thoroughly check how those advances might affect society.

The letter’s authors recognize the remarkable successes in “speech recognition, image classification, autonomous vehicles, machine translation, legged location and question-answering systems,” and argue that it is not unfathomable that the research may lead to the eradication of disease and poverty. But they insisted that “our AI systems must do what we want them to do” and laid out research objectives that will “help maximize the societal benefit of AI.”

The document of research priorities says that future AI could potentially impact society in areas such as computer security, economics, law, and philosophy, and highlight many concerns for communities. For instance, scientists suggested that AI should be developed to analyze how workers – and their wages – would be affected if parts of the economy become automated.

They also suggested looking into various issues involving AI that need to be considered before breakthroughs are made that are considered beneficial to society: Can lethal autonomous weapons be made to comply with humanitarian law? How will AI systems be constrained over privacy rights when it comes to obtaining data from surveillance cameras, phone lines, and emails?

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has repeatedly voiced concerns about artificial intelligence, saying it could be more dangerous than nuclear weapons.

Musk has invested in companies developing AI, and he advises “to keep an eye on them.”

Additionally, a group of scholars from Oxford University wrote in a blog post last year that “when a machine is ‘wrong,' it can be wrong in a far more dramatic way, with more unpredictable outcomes, than a human could. Simple algorithms should be extremely predictable, but can make bizarre decisions in 'unusual' circumstances."

World famous physicist Stephen Hawking, who relies on a form of artificial intelligence to communicate, told the BBC that if technology could match human capabilities, “it would take off on its own, and re-design itself at an ever increasing rate.”

He also said that due to biological limitations, there would be no way that humans could match the speed of the development of technology.

“Humans, who are limited by slow biological evolution, couldn't compete and would be superseded,” he said. “The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race.”

The document is signed by many representatives from Facebook, Google, Skype, and artificial intelligence companies DeepMind and Vicarious. Academics from many of the world’s most prestigious universities have also signed it, including those from Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, Stanford, and MIT.

The Foundational Delusion of Our Era Is Naturalism

Driving for my elderly Ukrainian Orthodox Bishop I quickly noticed that when he passed some Protestant Churches he made the sign of the Cross in a blessing. I asked, "Why do you give blessings to churches you know teach error?" It seemed counter intuitive to me. He said, "Whether they are church or not we cannot truly know, but we know they are schools of religion who teach something true about Jesus Christ and American society would be so much the worse off without them." We passed by the Mormon Temple on Woodward Ave in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and he looked over and shook his head no. I did not bother to ask, I knew the difference, he had done the same at two Jehovah Witness buildings. Here is an Evangelical Church being an excellent "school" not so much of "religion" but for Christ's sake exposing the insanity of the Scientistic Dictatorship's Darwinian Delusions.

I cannot help but compare this excellent presentation of the Truth of the state of the SCIENCE concerning "evolution," to a series of lectures (many hours long) given by Father Thomas Hopko on Ancient Faith Radio. I'm embarrassed for Orthodoxy - though Fr Tom made clear he was speaking for himself and not for the Orthodox Church, that his examination of "the Theory of Evolution" was just his personal journey, at the same time he, a very well respected teacher of Orthodoxy, was on THE major voice of Orthodoxy (speaking to the culture) in America. What would any casual listener think? His conclusion after 20 plus hours of lecturing (some of it that was quite good, by the way) "Come on, you have to see that there is something too it. There is too much evidence, too many great scientist believe it. It has to be TRUE." I had listened intently and knew where he was going after about the second week, but still, hearing those words from his mouth STILL made my jaw drop. Sorry, for all his knowledge of Orthodoxy his wisdom just did not translate into the fields of Physics, Biology and Molecular Biology and he was all but DEAD WRONG. I say all but, because, yes there is something to it, there is demonstrated certain abilities of adaptation of species, inside the confines of "pre-programmed information" present and dormant in D.N.A. structure, allowing for changes within certain limits, the result of environment over time. Some of this can happen quite quickly as the Russian Gray Fox experiments have proved. However, it does not signal the "creation" of anything, merely the expression of dormant D.N.A. programming.

The state of the Science of Evolution has been exposed by modern empirical scientific observation, obvious even to the layman with a little study, to be a truly out dated and even a superstitious view of Life's Origin, invoking the magic of "spontaneous generation" as it does. Comparing a drop of pre-biotic primordial soup (if any such ever existed) to a single cell, is like comparing a slab of rock to a computer. There is no feasible way to get by non-intelligent/random means, from the first to the second. With a little study a great many people can understand the absolute physical impossibility of Darwinism, from MANY different angles and several different disciplines. Here is a wonderful place to start.

I was first introduced to Michael Behe, through excerpts of his writing in Michael A Cremo's book "Human Devolution - A Vedic Alternative to the Darwin Theory." I have not read his book, "Darwin's Black Box." At the time I did not know that Behe was a Christian. I'm not surprised to learn it. I have read several articles written by Behe over the years.

I'm was not familiar with Stephen Meyer, but I will soon read his two books, "Signature in the Cell: DNA and the Evidence for Intelligent Design" and "Darwin's Doubt: The Explosive Origin of Animal Life and the Case for Intelligent Design"

I have read David Berlinski's excellent book, " The Devil's Delusion: Atheism and Its Scientific Pretensions.

We all need to create our own language in this cultural battle, learn the vocabulary and learn how to stand mind-dead and demon possessed Evolutionists on their heads, how to leave them speechless, (if they are honestly ignorant) and cursing if they are purposely deceiving.

If you want to lean to be a warrior for Truth, when dealing with those who are mired in the delusions of the culture, you have to be able to topple the Jericho Walls of LIES erected to block the true view of God's Creation and thus the Context for Christ's work. The walls of Lies created by the "Enlightenment" are Secular Humanism - Marxism/Communism/Socialism, Freudianism - Secular Psychology and Psychiatry, Corporate Pharmaceutical Practice of Medicine, all based upon the foundation of "NATURALISM" - the Extreme Materialism of Darwinian Evolutionism. These walls obscure and even block the view of True Nature and this includes "true human nature." One has to smash to powder the foundation, which is Darwinism and the other walls begin to teeter, and quickly fall.

As a chemist, the most fascinating issue for me revolves around the origin of life. Before life began, there was no biology, only chemistry -- and chemistry is the same for all time. What works (or not) today, worked (or not) back in the beginning. So, our ideas about what happened on Earth prior to the emergence of life are eminently testable in the lab. And what we have seen thus far when the reactions are left unguided as they would be in the natural world is not much. Indeed, the decomposition reactions and competing reactions out distance the synthetic reactions by far. It is only when an intelligent agent (such as a scientist or graduate student) intervenes and "tweaks" the reactions conditions "just right" do we see any progress at all, and even then it is still quite limited and very far from where we need to get. Thus, it is the very chemistry that speaks of a need for something more than just time and chance. And whether that be simply a highly specified set of initial conditions (fine-tuning) or some form of continual guidance until life ultimately emerges is still unknown. But what we do know is the random chemical reactions are both woefully insufficient and are often working against the pathways needed to succeed. For example, each of us has a vast 'computer program' of six billion DNA bases in every cell that guided our development from a fertilized egg, specifies how to make more than 200 tissue types, and ties all this together in numerous highly functional organ systems. Few people outside of genetics or biochemistry realize that evolutionists still can provide no substantive details at all about the origin of life, and particularly the origin of genetic information in the first self-replicating organism. What genes did it require -- or did it even have genes? How much DNA and RNA did it have -- or did it even have nucleic acids? How did huge information-rich molecules arise before natural selection? Light From the East - Abbot Nicholas - Holy Resurrection Monastery - Wisconsin.

in in the village of Saint Nazianz, Wisconsin (the town is named after one of the greatest Eastern saints, St. Gregory the Theologian, known in the West as St. Gregory Nazianzen).

This is a transcription of a homily given during a Divine Liturgy, transcribed from a Youtube Video ( http://youtu.be/jWQoNZswHZ0 ).

This pastor exposes what to my mind is the underlying error that pervades most of Roman Catholic systematic theology, and has led to the absurdity of the statement of the Synod on the Family Autumn 2014. I stated the error more than twenty years ago in the following words -
“To release the restraints of the human spirit, to allow reason, or soul to predominate and distort the image - and have theology degenerate along the reductionist, rationalist, deconstructionist path - or along the romantic, dreamy and passionate one, the path of the soul unchecked and un-transfigured, "psychic" and not "pneumatic".

“These two, the rational and the romantic, represent two sides of the same coin of Western Captivity - Rational Theology and Romantic Spirituality. Rational Theology has lead to the various absurdities like the Jesus Seminar, (the dogmatic apostasy on the majority of Protestant churches and the insanity of the Roman Catholic “Synod on the Family in 2014) the total demythologization of the Scriptures and Tradition; and Romantic Spirituality ultimately leading to Sophianism, (or some such rational or passionate spirituality) - one's own unconquered passions being in control of the soul's searching and expression.

Among the many challenges that the New Evangelization faces, is a relatively new charge against faith by our opponents. How often one hears from atheists the allegation that at the heart of the religious world view is violence. At least from Atheists from our time. This is not just the old criticism that religious people are hypocrites for carrying out violence while preaching peace and love. Many contemporary atheists like to say that cruelty is actually integral to the concept of the supernatural. To believe in divinity is to believe in a force that twists the natural world as observed and described by “science” Which bends the natural world to its will, which breaks, beats and bewilders the whole universe.

A superficial reading of the (Epistle and Gospel) we just heard might well be sited by atheists as a support for this position. In the reading from Saint John's Gospel Jesus certainly acts with violence. Is he aggression not entirely directed at the heart of the natural world. Aren't the money changers in the Temple simply operating according to the principles of natural competition, furthering their own cultural sphere, what may reasonably be an evolutionary imperative. Perhaps the really horrible violence of the man in this event lies not in the fighting with the whip but in an insistence on a super-natural ethic in permanent opposition to a natural one. A fear of this critique has entered into certain kinds of scriptural exegesis.

One of the less happy results of the Enlightenment has been a deep suspicion of miracles. For enlightened deists this was because they were perfectly content with one miracle and only one miracle, the natural world, with it intricate and perfect laws. And this has lead in a few short intellectual steps from deism to atheism. But perhaps there are some Christians who find themselves somewhere along this trajectory. Not quite ready to dispense with God altogether but embarrassed to think of him as in any kind of opposition to nature. The outcome of all of this among liberal exegetes has been to refuse to accept as literal truth the appearance of miracles of the kind we read about in the reading from Acts, the healing of a lame man by the apostles. Haven't the apostles taken a kind of whip to nature. Surely we need a less literal, a less fundamentalist reading of these miracle stories in which God is not so forceful in his breaking apart the laws of science, His violation of nature by acts of Grace.

This is far from a academic question. If you think about the great moral questions in our culture today, they have almost all of them to do with the question of nature and Grace. Does God impose on the human embryo a spiritual dignity? What about the human at the end of life? How are we to handle biological impulse to sex, food, status? How often do we hear and such and such Catholic practice is not natural, be it opposition to extra-marital or homosexual sex, clerical celibacy . . or you name it. My Brothers and Sisters, I want to propose to you today that beneath this problem, or series of problems, really, lies a fundamental assumption about the relationship between nature and Grace. I want to further propose that this assumption, so often called religious or even Christian is in fact far better called “Western” or “Western Christian.” You can guess then in what direction I'm going to point to get us somewhere better. And the afternoon's Liturgy is the best pointing to that direction that I'm about to elaborate.

There is no time in what I still hope will be a short homily to really do justice to this argument, but let's start from what I will admit will be a shockingly abrupt treatment of the Latin Tradition. Have I gotten you attention? There are various ways I could caricature this tradition. We Easterners generally like to go back to Saint Agustin as the fountain and origin of the fundamental disconnect between nature and Grace. But let's pass over the history and focus on one aspect of contemporary Catholic spirituality that I think illustrates the point I want to make. For Western Catholics it is common to speak of “offering up” “offering abstinence up” . . how many times have you been told to “offer it up.” Offer it up suffering, including the kinds of disciplines people choose for Lent, which you have recently of course completed.

This sacrificial language is absolutely NOT an error. I want to make that very clear. Do NOT get me wrong on this, please. It is perfectly in keeping with the sacred scriptures and in a tradition that can be traced back further even than Saint Augustin, to Saint Cyprian of Carthage and others. And it is by no means absent from Eastern Christianity. No, offering up fasts, abstinence, daily modifications and unpleasantness generally, sister assures us is a lovely idea. But, it depends for it power, on a sense that suffering comes from precisely from trying to reconcile the demands of nature with those of Grace. The logic of sacrifice says, but what I'm giving up is intrinsically good, though in competition with the higher good, towards which my surrender is directed. For this reason the concept of offering up sacrifice reinforces a version of God that can lead, if not properly balanced, by alternative views to seeing God as a tyrant. As a demanding, even monstrous totalitarian who wants us to give up what is natural to us, in favor of a different kind of good, altogether.

The problem the West faces and Western Christians, if I may be so bold, is that it tries to do this balancing from entirely within its own tradition. God can't be a monster, we know that. So, let's make him less demanding, more tolerant, kinder, more human. We can't NOT teach the idea of sacrifice altogether, but let us make it more tolerable, more like liberal politics. Sacrifice is acceptable if it helps the poor, if it has some earthly, some natural utility. Since our fundamental assumption is that Grace and nature are likely to be in conflict, let us avoid this conflict by turning Grace into something more like nature and God into someone more like US. In any conflict there has to be a winner and a loser. Traditionally the winner is Grace and the loser is nature. The more liberal project, seems to me to be simply the other side of that same rather debased coin, rather the apotheosis (deification) of nature at God's expense. (Transcribers note: the raising of nature to the status of God, and God reduced to OUR limited understanding of the laws of nature.) The problem is that the trick never quiet works. There is still all that stuff in the Bible like the readings of today, Jesus wielding a whip, the apostles turning nature on its head, resurrection from the dead, Christ is Risen! (indeed he is risen – from the congregation). People do notice when we ignore these things. Hence the ultimate failure of the Western Liberal Project. Though this does not remove from the conservative project, the basic problem the liberals have striven vainly to solve.

So how can the East help? How can us Eastern Christians, small, vulnerable, maybe even backward, help? Well for a start there is absolutely nothing in the liturgical tradition of the Greek Byzantine Church, which is all I'm qualified to speak about, that uses the language of “offering up.” It is completely foreign to our Liturgical texts in the East. Sacrifices like fasting, prayer, alms-giving, no, the language given is not that of sacrifice but that of ascetics, of medicinal healing, and athletic training. Perhaps that is because the intellectual powerhouse in the Greek Tradition is not Augustin of Hippo but Origen of Alexandria. Origen got his metaphysics terribly wrong. But the basic insight of his notion of pre-existing souls was that the fundamental relationship between natural and supernatural orders is not one of conflict, but of companionship and solidarity.

It was this insight that lead to Orthodox Fathers purged of its unbiblical elements, to development into the characteristic Byzantine sense that creation and redemption are not separate events but merely two stages on the same movement that leads to theosis (deification/sanctification) the divinization of the human. This notion of theosis depends also on an understanding that Grace is not some “thing” God imposes on a recalcitrant nature. This notion of created Grace is far less significant to Greek theology than that of Grace as the direct experience of God Himself. More or less the emphasis of theology in the West is that Grace is a creation, a gift of God. In the East the emphasis is much more that Grace is un-created Grace. It is God acting Himself, his Divine Energy. Grace for us is the un-created gift of God Himself, sweeping us up into his Trinitarian Life.

I know that last year you had the Extraordinary Form of the Latin Rite. People sometimes compare the Byzantine Rite to what we now call the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite. Both are characterized they say, by a sense of mystery. Perhaps. Admittedly I can't speak much about the Latin Liturgy, but about the Byzantine Tradition I can say this. Mystery for us is not about just what we do in church, it is how we see everything, how we see reality. Every Christian is part of the hidden life of the Sacred Trinity. Every Christian is a mystic. Being a mystic means being a liturgical being, nothing more. Everything we do is, or ought to be, at least wrapped in the mystery of the direct experience of God. I can't say this enough . . this sense of mystery is not just a feature of how we do church or how we do mass or how we do liturgy. It colors even how we see sin . . . not so much as a moral crime, but as a failure to worship, not the exercise of a defiant human will in opposition to God, not an exercise of freedom, but a failure to be who we deep down in our hearts want to be.

Sin isn't simply an act of rebellious freedom, it is the failure to be free at all. How many people reject the Church because they hate its teaching on sin? Perhaps they only know a partial version of that teaching, because they have only a partial knowledge of what the Church is, or for that matter what the Christian Faith is. Surely this challenge must be addressed in this year designated as the year of faith. Our vocation as mystics, challenges us to be ascetics, to purge away everything in our nature that doesn't support our deepest desire to be united with God. It is this ascetical dimension to our mysticism that makes the Byzantine sense of mystery so intensely practical. It explains the central importance of monasticism in this way of being Christian. Not just as a special vocation for a few, but as Pope John Paul the Second put it in his apostolic letter (Orientale Lumen - "The Light of the East" ) the reference point for all the baptized. Incidentally, if you want to experience the Byzantine Tradition, don't be content with the brief experience of a Divine Liturgy, visit the monastery and be immersed within it. Holy Resurrection Monastery is two hours from here. That will do just fine.

There at Holy Resurrection Monastery we try to make the whole package ascetics, liturgy, mystery, make sense in the real world for ourselves and those who make retreats with us. But lets think specifically about the Byzantine Liturgy we are celebrating this afternoon. This liturgy is long, but not because we think God begrudges us our time but because in time we already begin to experience the first inkling of eternity. It is rich in ceremony, not because God wants to dictate our movements, but because our natural human yearning for beauty whether in color, movement, the scent of incense, or whatever, finds fulfillment in our experience of God in the Divine Services. This Liturgy is entirely sung, without instruments, not to test our endurance, but to teach us how to be the best versions of ourselves. In short everything about our Liturgy is intended to show us just how close God is to us. That we are made for Him, and that he has made room for us, in his inner Trinitarian Life. There is no competition here, or there shouldn't be anyway, between ceremony and charity, between social justice and moral living on the one hand and sacramental ritual on the other. These are all stages on the same road, all movements on the same dance. Our temple must be cleansed so that we can worship, our legs must be healed so that we can walk into heaven on our own two feet.

The saints have power to work miracles, but not because there is anything wrong with nature. Miracles show us what nature is already in process of becoming in the continuous and never ending process of Creation, leading ultimately to the New Heaven and the New Earth of (inaudible). Brothers and Sisters, I believe the only way the Western Christian Tradition can avoid the criticism that its God is either a tyrant or wimp, is to step outside itself and to understand there are other ways of thinking about Nature and Grace than it being locked in necessary conflict.

We Easterners are not here to provide you with an esoteric experience, an exotic amusement. If that's all we are, then lock us up in a museum or put us in the circus tent. But that is hardly what the Second Vatican Council called us to contribute to the Universal Church, a mere sideshow. Nor why recent Popes have insisted that Western Catholics become familiar with the eastern Traditions. No. We have something to offer, if we are true to ourselves and thus true to you. What is it that we offer? A reminder perhaps that mystery, transcendence and the experience of God are not for a few Christians but for all of us. We certainly cannot answer all the challenges to the new evangelization, from within the Byzantine Tradition, no single tradition is enough for that. But perhaps some of our failures have happened because each tradition is fighting with the other, hands as it were, tied behind their backs. Let us unloose the bonds that hold us back. Let us get to know one another's strengths and just see what the Spirit can do. Christ is Risen!

Aphorisms of G.K.Chesterton

G.K.Chesterton - the Apostle of Common Sense

Someone responded to something I said with the following G.K.Chesterton aphorism and it really reminded me of the rationalistic theological straight-jacket of modern Roman Catholicism. I'm not criticizing Chesterton - I think he was what he claimed he was, a producer of Aphorisms, a Prophet of Common Sense, more like Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard than a theologian or father of the Church. Who for instance could argue with "A penny saved is a penny earned." or "For when we cease to worship God, we do not worship nothing, we worship anything.” Would that both Franklin and Chesterton were taught in our public schools rather that Marx and Hegel. But that said, in the RC push called "The New Evangelism" G.K. Chesterton has been raised to the statue of a prophet of the Church. It shows the devolution of the culture where Chesterton's aphorisms are a challenge. I think it also represents a nostalgia for the spirit of the 19th and early 20th century that saw itself as an age of "enlightened common sense."

"Faith and reason are in this sense co-eternal; but as the words are popularly used, as loose labels for particular periods, the one is now almost as remote as the other. What was called the Age of Reason has vanished as completely as what are called the Ages of Faith." - G.K. Chesterton

That Roman Catholic rationalism is lost on me. This whole Faith and Reason meme being co-eternal is part of the great sickness that has entered the RCC. It is in fact the scholastic rationalism I have mentioned before, the exact place where the mystery is destroyed and God reduced to human understanding. Chesterton seems himself confused on the issue since he acknowledges that it is a dichotomy where BOTH have been distorted by something other than WISDOM. Something Chesterton calls "criminal." His out you see, is the phrase, "but as the words are popularly used." He doesn't go further to explain the total inability of human conceptual language to state anything that has eternal qualities, except God.

"The only way to understand an age, whether it be the Age of Reason or the Age of Faith, is to get behind these mere criminal charges, which are used to support each other and really destroy each other. It is to find some common spirit that can be polished in that particular way and coarse in that particular way. A mystical conviction is the cause both of the Franciscan being friendly and the Crusader being hostile. A rational conviction is the cause both of Dr Johnson being ceremonious and Dr Johnson being rude. But it is necessary to realize something of what that rational conviction really was; and the only spirit in which it is worth while to study history is the spirit which can feel a certain enthusiasm for the ideal of each time in turn." - G.K. Chesterton. Age of Reason.

Chesterton being "the apostle of common sense" seeing himself of the "Age of Common Sense" sees Wisdom in common sense, Childlike Wisdom that would say things like "I see this rock. It is clear that some creative force has made it." That is huge WISDOM, sadly not available to our age through "reason" which has grown prideful. But then when was the "reason" or "spirit" of any age devoid of pride?

The weakest arguments offered by RC theologians (and as often by Protestants as well) is the plaintive plea, "Isn't it reasonable to believe x.y. or z?"

The answer is NO it is not, not until you have experienced x.y.or z. - because anyone who sincerely seeks God in Christ will find him, will meet him, will experience him, hold "relationship with him" and will not be left in decades of time, coldly separated from him, like some poor Muslim, trying to cobble Allah's Wisdom and Knowledge together with mere faith and reason - which is merely a Romanized Philosophy. In fact by worldly standards, Islam is a most reasonable faith, though all it can attain is the fore-mentioned cold separation, which is tried to be remedies by slavish ritual and passionate barbarity.

The RCC has made of Faith and Reason a dichotomy where they stand in opposition to one another, like they produced the dichotomy of predestination vs free will. (Like the Protestants produce the dichotomy of extreme legalism vs. antinomianism). Then they claim "wisdom" by claiming that the two, Faith and Reason are somehow locked at the hip, not in conflict and co-eternal.

Beyond faith and reason is wisdom and knowledge. One can create Islam by faith and reason or any number of pagan cults and philosophies. And the idea of ascribing "co-eternity" to the human experience of faith and reason or even to human wisdom and knowledge is ludicrous. OR IF we insist on their "eternal characteristics" we are rather ascribing these as the characteristics of God, and so we have just produced a prideful theology that reduces God to our comprehension. What need has God of the human concepts of Faith and Reason? Wisdom and Knowledge?

It would take a fool to say that God is Reasonable, for God cannot be confined in a human category. We cannot rightly say even that God is Good, since that would accomplish the same diminution of the Deity. We can state all the "wonderful names of God" ascribed by Islam, which were merely pilfered from Christian Scripture and we have not in any true way described God. We can only say like the Holy Fathers have stated, that HE appears to us more like goodness than ill, more like beauty than ugliness, more like something than nothing, more like kindness than rudeness, more reasonable than unreasonable, more rational than irrational, more judicious than absurd. Yet if we pursue this line of the Good God, Reasonable God, Beautiful God and Kind God, before long we only produce a sugary deity more like a fairy than a Person, holding only "sweet human concepts." The reality of his awesomeness is destroyed. Everything that is awful, dreadful, formidable, mighty, overwhelming, superb about God washed away in sugar.

So faith and reason may or may not lead to wisdom and knowledge. Why? Because Faith and Reason are mere means of EXPERIENCE which may when entered prayerfully produce, by the Synergistic Power of the Holy Spirit IN THAT ACTION, Wisdom and Knowledge. In other words, by walking we will have proved. (So that you may PROVE what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.) The ONLY concept stated as "nearly" holding co-eternity with God is LOVE, (God is Love) and even then we have to admit that the human concept of love is NOT the extent of the concept we intend to convey.

Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall be done away; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall be done away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;
10 but when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things.
12 For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known.
13 But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

Notice it does not state, "But now abideth faith and reason, which are in a sense co-eternal." And each of these concepts, Faith, Hope and Love are meaningless if reduced to emotions, or mental concepts or mental/emotional assents and/or characteristics. They only have meaning in ACTION - applied and experienced in the turmoil and joy of everyday life.

Faith and reason as concepts produce NOTHING. At least nothing good, since they are the underlying core of Islam and other barbarities. But Rational Liturgizing, that is worshiping God, offering ourselves, our intellect, our emotions, our bodies, IN worship, a living sacrifice IN worship, has the power to turn our faith into HIS WISDOM, our reason into HIS KNOWLEDGE. And not just any worship, or Islam would have a leg up on us. Not mindless ritual, nor servile keeping of tradition.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present (present = stand together at attention) your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (reasonable service = RATIONAL LITURGIZING - that is not free worship, personal worship, confused and chaotic worship, but healing worship as has been passed down through the Tradition of the Church - the ANCIENT forms as honored by both Jesus and the Apostles, as adapted by the Apostles and the New Testament Church following Jesus' crucifixion, resurrection and ascension.)
2 And be not conformed to this world: (oh but aren't we supposed to make worship "contemporary and accessible to the people of this age?" Shouldn't we have Rock Bands and Clown Masses and Contemporary Worship Teams? ) but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. +++

The grasp of the Will of God is Wisdom. It trumps faith and reason, but is produced by the "faithful use of both" IN Ortho-Praxis - Proper WORSHIP. Not in philosophizing, conjecturing, or theorizing, or like in Islam, Dead Ritual, but in the LIVING THEOLOGIZING SACRIFICE, that is the Ancient Christian Tradition of WORSHIP - Rational Liturgizing.

Why don't we just engage in private prayer and worship?

Chesterton even in this is still "conceptualizing" and "theorizing" never mentioning the actual gathering of that "terrible army" of the Church Militant who in Divine Liturgy join with the Church Triumphant, the saints and angels worshiping around God's throne TOGETHER. He does allude to it saying, "to behold with astonishment and enthusiasm a (should read that) divine company and a (should read the) captain" and more than observing but JOINING that divine company, where the experience is beyond REASON, beyond FAITH, beyond Philosophy, but existentially LIVED.

It is the experience of the communal worship that creates the "spirit of prayer" the prayer that never ceases, the communion with God, the heart that continually prays.

What meaning is the concept of hot until one experiences being burned?
What meaning is the concept of danger, until we experience the pain of injury?
What meaning is the concept of God or Love, until we are awash in the experience of HIM!

Gladio Plan A still exists, but it functions on a much smaller and more public scale. (Research the open drug and prostitution in Europe as an example.)

Following the fall of communism, Gladio Plan B became the dominant force of the covert WARS run by NATO/CIA/NWO. Gladio Plan B, began with a CIA operation in Afghanistan, PRIOR to the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, and was the REASON for the Russian invasion. Gladio Plan B, is Islamic Jihad, used in the furtherance of NWO Goals. And it is much larger, much deadlier than Gladio Plan A.

You know (or you should know by now) that Al Qiada is CIA, create by a joint venture between the Muslim Brotherhood and the CIA, as was HAMAS and a host of other Jihadi 'tribes." If you don't know this, start with this video. The first half will give you the information you need to proceed.

How the New World Order beats non-Compliant Nations into New World Order Submission. This is how we know that ISIS and a host of smaller groups are not a result of some spontaneous Muslim uprising, but created by the New World Order, to use as blunt instruments to beat non-compliant nations, into New World Order submission, or to destroy them so they can be "rebuilt later" to order.
